Chendanda Nikkin Thimmaiah – Hockey

Chendanda Nikkin Thimmaiah, a famous Kodava sportsperson was born on 18 January 1991 in Kodagu. A professional Indian field Hockey player who plays at the forward position. He is a  talented sportsman that he also shined in athletics. He even won silver medal in Open National Athletics championship.

He is a graduate from St Joseph’s commerce college, Bangalore. 

Before he started as a hockey player he was an athlete who had won 400 meters junior Open Nationals. His father Mr Aiyanna was the former ASC player.  Thimmaiah who plays as a forward was named in the Indian squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Nikkin Thimmaiah, a product of SAI, Bangalore Played in the Rio Olympics after he proved his class in the Hockey Champions Trophy. He also figured in the 2014 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

Domestic tournaments 

  • 2nd hockey India Senior Men  National Championship 2012 (BRONZE).
  • 3rd hockey India Senior Men  National Championship 2013 (BRONZE).

  • He was credited as the best forward in the 3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship in 2013.

He also supported his family team (Chendanda) to clinch their maiden title in Kodava family Hockey Tournament.
