Mandanervanda Rajeshwari (Rani Appanna)
Mandanervanda Rajeshwari (Rani Appanna) from Palur village, Kodagu was the first Kodava lady flying officer (pilot) of Indian Air force. Her father served as a Nursing Superintendent at Victorian Hospital Bangalore
She did her Engineering in Electronics
- She belonged to the second batch of 13 girls and was selected for undergoing training at IAF flying school in Jalahalli, Bangalore
- Later she rose to become the first Kodava lady flying officer (pilot).
